On October 1st 2020, Simone Montanto (vice director of the MaRHE Center and researcher at the Milano-Bicocca University) will particpipate in the “Coral Reef Restoration and Rehabilitation Workshop” as one of the main speakers, along with other experts who are actively engaged in coral restoration and rehabilitation.
The event, organized by the Maldives Marine Research Institute, is the first workshop in the Maldives dealing with coral restoration, a tremendously important Marine Biology field that aims at saving and restoring coral reefs damaged by changing water temperatures, ocean acidification, pollution, invasive species, changing weather patterns, and physical impacts from ship groundings and storms.
